Beypore Beach (Beypur Beach)
Beypore beach is located at the mouth of Chaliyar river dotted with silhouettes of fishing boats and a stone path. The charming beach is just like a treasure of peace and tranquility with its picturesque atmosphere, wide stretches of golden sands and fascinating coconut trees. This beach is pristine and perfect for a quiet escapade. The major attraction of the beach is Pulimuttu, a rocky pier. The simple structure of piled up rocks is converted to a walkway. It extends about one km into the sea. A walk over this pier is fascinating as waves and wind transport you to a world of their own. No doubt the ocean walkway is a popular short cut for rejuvenation.
Boat building is the major occupation of the local people of Beypore. The Arabian transportation vessel named โuruโ is the main lure here. There was a ship building yard famous for the work ethic passed on to each of its employees over centuries. While most modern iterations rely on blueprints and technology, these unique individuals rely on intuition. Their ability to conceptualise the final product is magical to view experience and their discipline while doing the same is extraordinary. One can have the option to stroll towards the nearby fishing harbour or pop over to the popular haunt of migratory birds, the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary.
