Devbagh Beach - Karwar
Devbagh is a small island situated between the Western Ghats hill and the Arabian Sea. Devbagh beach is located nearer to the Karnataka-Goa border on the northern side of Kali River. It is known for its endless stretch of golden sand, the clear blue waters and the line of casuarina trees. With white seagulls flying across the backdrop of a softly lit coral sky, this beach creates a delightful view that can be cherished for a long time. The waters here are perfect diving sites. One can also cruise up to the place where River Kali meets the sea. The coastline beside the river is lined by mangrove thickets, home to a diversity of birds. There are a couple of islands near the beach which is popular among the explorers. Scuba Diving and Snorkeling are the activities that one can witness marine life at the coast. Wide varieties of local eateries provide an exquisite taste of the regional delicacies. It is said that the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore found inspiration as a poet at this beach when he first visited here in 1882. Travellers can take a boat ride here in order to explore the islands and fishing villages around.
