Half Moon Beach in Gokarna

The geography of this beach is very similar to that of half moon and so named after it. The Half Moon beach is known for its clean sparkling sands against the transparent blue waters. Numerous village huts can be spotted along the beach giving it a rather traditional and homely touch altogether. A narrow pathway towards the South end of the Om beach leads past some shops and then through the bushes into the hills. The trail goes over rocks and hills with spectacular vistas of the sea. There is a trail hike for some minutes that finally ends at the serene beach. There are sign boards in frequent intervals to guide the tourists. Sand, Waves and the Sun are the only things that wander our minds here. The water here is shallow making way to swim. There are restaurants providing excellent food varieties but seems costly due to the fact that the food products being shipped here by motor boats. Away from the civilization and into the arms of nature is a feel one can surely get at this beach.
