Panambur Beach in Mangalore - Most visited beach of coastal Karnataka

Reputed as one of the cleanest and safest beaches in India, Panambur beach, just outside Mangalore city centre is usually crowded for this fact. The word ‘panam’ refers to money. Since it is located close to Mangalore port where trading is very common, the beach is named Panambur. This is the first of its kind in Indian beaches, completely run and maintained by a private enterprise, the ‘Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project’. The organisation ensures a clean and safe environment to attract visitors and create awareness among the public about preserving nature and maintaining ecological balance. The stunning Arabian sea, exuberant waves and the beauty of the shoreline attracts a number of tourists as well as adventure seekers. One can also treat taste buds to some local cuisines at the shops that line the beach. Jet skiing is the popular sport here along with horse and camel rides.
