The region covering the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Goa are collectively referred as south India. Tamil Nadu is the bottomost state (along with Kerala) of India, which is predominant for temples. This region is listed in one of the continuously inhabited states in the world. Some of the famous places include temples at Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram (UNESCO site), Thanjavur (UNESCO group of temples), Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Rameswaram etc. Although very small is size, Kerala state holds its place in backwaters cruise and ayurveda. Alleppey is referred to as the โVenice of the eastโ for its similarity with it. Munnar, Thekkady, Wayanad are the renowned hill stations. Kovalam, Varkala, Mararikulam for the beaches. The state is meant to spend time leisurely with nature.
