Syntheri Rocks, Dandeli - Height of 300 feet
At a distance of 30 km from Dandeli town, Syntheri Rocks is a monolithic single granite boulder at a height of 300 feet with river Kaneri, flowing underneath. A part of Kali Tiger Reserve, the road to reach these rocks passes through the rustling woods where wild cats are frequented. If lucky, one can spot black panthers in that way. These rocks were believed to be million years old through geological studies and might have formed through volcanic eruption. It is named after one English lady โCintheraโ, who discovered it. From the designated parking area, visitors have to descend some 200 steps. Deciduous trees kissing the sky is the scenery around. There are resting benches along the way to leisure. The toil is really worth it to witness the 300 feet high and 400 feet long rock formation. Milky white river Kaneri flowing below adds more charm to the rocks through its reflection. One can also find a lot of beehives at the base of the rocks. Though there is not much to do other than observing the patterns that nature produced, less expectations from the visitors will surely make it giant.
