India's one of the best-known wildlife reserves situated at the foothills of the Nilgiri mountains. This national park is flanked by Karnataka's Nagarhole National Park to its northwest, Tamil Nadu's Mudumalai Wildlife sanctuary to its south, and Kerala's Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary to its southwest. Bandipur has mostly dry deciduous forests. This park houses tigers, Asiatic wild dogs, jungle cats, mangoose, jackal, Indian giant squirrel, deers, wild pig, rats, reptiles like python, snake, cobra, watersnakes, flying-lizards and more than 250 species of birds. Best time to visit this park is from June to October. The activities are Bus safari and Elephant safari.

Safari bus leaves from the park entrance every one hour from 6:00 am to 9:00 am and from 3:30pm to 6:30pm,

Safari charges including entrance fee for an Indian is Rs.60/- For Foreigner Rs.200/-.

There is no ticket for still camera. For video, it costs about Rs.150/-
