Historic Temple Complex...

The isolated capital city of Hoysala dynasty founded in the early 11th century. The only finest example of Hoysala architecture at Halebid is Hoysaleshwara Temple. The intricate carvings depicting the hindu deities, sages, animals and the friezes of the life of hoysala rules are some of the highlights of the temple. There is a jain temple at the back of the hoysaleswara temple which remains always very cool because of its granite columns and the sculptures of many tirtankaras.
