Kodaikanal
The Picturesque Hill Station...
Kodaikanal is termed as "Princess of Hill Station" in Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal is one of the Sylvan Grandeur of the Palani hills, an offshoot of the Western Ghats. The hill station was established by American missionaries in 1845 as a refuge from the high temperature and tropical diseases of the plains. The scenic way up by road runs through coffee plantations and thick forest. The pride of Kodaikanal is the Kurinji flower, which blossoms once in 12 years. The altitude is about 2133 m (approx.7000 feet). This hill station offers chill climate and relax stay for the tourists. The peak season is from April to July for Indian Tourists.
